Abi ~ she says that she doesn't like having her photo taken !
Abi & Kirsten ~ Look at the left of Abi & you can see just how close they were to the seals.
Abi & Kirsten
Horsey Gap in the sand dunes, the beach was closed as the Seals breed from November onwards.
The viewing platform at Horsey gap
Just lazing around yards from the viewing platform
Hot soup & Crusty rolls at the beach on New years day, this is now a family tradition.
Notice Abi has her boots on! and poor Bramble had to paddle his puppy paws and it was freezing.
Just sitting around waiting for us too get back with the chips, a 25 minute wait....... you wouldn't think the beach would be so busy on new years day!
Chips........Hot soup & bread rolls the new years resolution of No junk food didn't last long.
She has that look in her eye, as if she is about to do something!
Abi as usual was the last one up, we had to send Kizzy up to wake her as everyone was waiting for her to open presents. Notice the Christmas sack. ( Most of the time )
Guitar hero was one of the hits of Christmas along with some of the Wii games, Dan's present & he had to wait his turn. The wii was on most of Christmas & the only time that we had the television on was when we watched Mama Mia which Grandma loved.
Christmas isn't complete without a glass or two of Bucks fizz for breakfast, along with
Christmas lunch ~ why are we waiting? yes I forgot to defrost the prawns for the prawn cocktail, not just of Christmas day, but again on boxing day.
Dan was a bit worried that he had eaten too much
Dan is completely chillaxed.....or did he just get bored waiting for his turn on the Wii
Good evening Well I am glad to say I am nearly there, Paul is just wrapping the last few presents and Kirsten has iced the cake,
Just how she managed to break the wooden spoon in the icing, I really dont know.
Kirsten & Abi Licking the bowl ! the bowl they found a lump of wood in.
just got to keep the cats away from it now. We had a lovely afternoon baking so now feel absolutely stuffed as I love baking but I rarely seem to find the time lately. This morning we were at the butchers at 8o'clock and then had to take Abi for an emergency dental appointment thankfully its only her wisdom teeth coming through so hopefully the pain will subside in a day or two.
The picture of Bramble in his Christmas hat is a result of seeing Alison's gorgeous pictures of her dog, this picture took me nearly an hour to get & a very cross dog.
We have been in this new house for nearly 3 years and we have nearly finished the garden, well I say finished what I mean is got it nearly how we wanted it, I guess being a garden it will never be finished
I did fancy re-modelling the shed to make it look like a beach hut, I just love the beach huts but as they sell for more than a small house in Yarmouth that's a no no. I had this image of a lovely white & pale blue beach hut in my mind with blue & white gingham curtains & a fake pointed roof on the front, but nobody else could see in my mind to get a clear picture of my vision & as I cant draw that was that, a plain old shed it stayed.
My Lavender tub, the soil is great my Lavenders just thrive.
The tub with the trellis has 2 blueberry plants in, I bought them last year and they both had good crops.
Paul hates this water feature he thinks it looks like a tombstone, but it looks very effective as it is surrounded by lights.
In my wall trough just outside the backdoor
The raised bed is one of my favourite areas, we made this out of some old railway sleepers, cut them into chunks and sunk them into the ground like groynes at the beach. The copper tree in the middleis another water feature I love it but it does make the surrounding soil very wet but everything seems to be thriving .
All we need now is a few more blue pots to make it look more mediteranean and then we can start working on the front garden.
Emma and Matt have been in Yarmouth for the week with the girls so we popped over to see them on Sunday morning.
Larissa at 11 weeks old
It's hard to believe how time flies that Eloise is 2 and Larissa is now 11 weeks old.
The Many faces of Eloise Having seen pictures of Emma at the same age I am amazed at how alike they look, even down to the facial expressions they make.
It's so quiet as Abi has gone to London for the week with the school for activities week. They travelled up yesterday morning on the 9am train arriving around lunchtime they fropped there bags at the hotel and went straight to the Natural History museum at 4pm they went back to the hotel to unpack and have dinner before heading out for an evening of Bowling. Today they are going to the Houses of parliament, the house of commons, Westminster abbey & past Buckingham palace on route to Trafalgar square & that's all before lunch. After lunch they are off to the National gallery, then onto St Paul's where they climb the 259 steps into the whispering gallery and then a further 530 steps to the outside of the top of the dome. Then back to her hotel for dinner and out again at 8pm to the Imax cinema to see Kung fu panda & back to the hotel for lights out at 12.30
on Thursday we all went of to the Royal Norfolk Show, for those of you that don't know this is the county's major agricultural show. We thought it was about time we went as we have lived in Norfolk 7 years next week & have never been.
